Kipper's Toybox

Everyone enjoyed the story of 'Kipper's Toybox' -
Someone or something had been nibbling a hole . . .

Jessica - "I liked the snake - because he was in Kipper's toybox"

Jacob - "The toys get out"

Kipper was worried about his toys - we joined in as he counted each one in turn - Kipper was upset when he couldn't find Sock Thing . . .

Summa - "He throwed Owl out of the toybox and he throwed them all out and he didn't tidy them up again!"

Noah - "I liked it when Kipper woke up and there was something wriggling along the floor - it was coming from the corner of the bedroom - it was Sock thing!"

Alfie - "Sock Thing was running away"

Evan E - "The Owl fell out Kipper's basket - because Kipper followed the sock"

Kipper was not sure what to do - none of his toys had ever come to life before! He grabbed Sock Thing by the nose - he squeaked, then a little tail appeared, a little pink tail . . .

Maisy - "The mice was in the toy Sock"

Summa - "The mouse got in the Sock Thingy and Kipper got woke up by the mouse"

Alisha - "Sock Thing was wriggling around cause I saw the mice's tail I did!"

Jack - "Somebody nibbled the box - the Sock!"

Thomas M - "I liked the toybox but even the big mice nibbled through the toybox hole.
Kipper threw Big Owl out of the toybox"

Bailey - "The mouse nibbled the box"

Gethin - "Mouse made the hole in Kipper's toybox"

The mice had been nibbling pieces of Kipper's toybox to make their nest - they promised not to nibble it again - but their babies didn't - and they nibbled EVERYTHING!

Georgia - "The mice were eating the basket - the baby mice"

Esme - "The baby mice nibbled the basket"

Maisy - "The mice eat Kipper's toybox - and all the baby ones. But they didn't promise to not eat Kipper's toybox!"

Have you got lots of toys in your toybox?
We would love to hear about your favourite one.

Willow Class Loved Splash!

This week Willow class loved reading 'Splash' by this terms Author - Jane Hissey.
We chose the story as it has been a very rainy week and we've been looking at the story of Noahs Ark.

Georgia loved the part when little bear fell out of the bucket!

Abigail loved the part when Little bear made friends with Seal!

We started to talk about what kind of things float and sink. We have had lots of fun experimenting with different things in our floating and sinking tank.

Kipper's Birthday!

Alisha - "The book was about Kipper's party"

Georgia - "There was a birthday cake and there was a present"

Jessica - "He had some balloons"

Oliver PS - "He had presents"

Ember - "I loved it!"

Kipper wanted to invite his friends to his party and he set about getting everything ready . . .

Ruby - "He's been busy making a cake for a long time!"

Alfie - "His friends were late"

Jacob - "Kipper eat all the cake!"

Gethin - "He eat the cherry Kipper did!"

Lexie-Mai - "He eat it all in his tummy!"

Poor Kipper thought his friends weren't coming, but then there was a knock at the door!

Noah - "I liked it when hid friends came round and Kipper said 'It's not my birthday today!"

Maisy - "His friends gave him a present"

Esme - "He had a cake in his box"

Kipper's Snowy Day!

Following our winter walk, we read 'Kipper's Snowy Day'!

Huge cotton wool snowflakes are tumbling past Kipper's window and kipper can't wait to go outside . . .

"I liked it when he fell to the ground and he couldn't get up!" (Noah)

"He will go in a ball - cause he's rolling down lots of times" (Alfie)

"I liked it when Kipper's friend turned into a different dog - because he goes into a snowball!" (Maisy)

"I liked it when he did the snowballs on Tiger" (Ruby)

There was lots of laughter when we watched the video of the story!

"He's putting a snowflake in his mouth!" (Evan W)

"I liked it when Tiger went rolling down the hill and the snowball cracked and he fell to the ground!" (Noah)

"They rolled down at the same time" (Bailey)

"The snow dog fell down and he was sad" (Jack)

"Kipper's going to Tiger - throwing a snowball!" (Evan W)

"I bet Tiger's cold!" (Alfie)

The children reflected on what they had seen . . .

"There was Kipper's friend" (Jessica)

"It was called Tiger" (Harley)

"Tiger went in the big snowball" (Jessica)

"Yeah - and he was making snowy prints. He's a magic dog - he can talk!" (Harley)

"Kipper throwed a snowball at Tiger!" (Georgia)

"It was quite cold when it was snowing" (Maisy)

"When Kipper throwed a snowball at Tiger he was very cross!" (Alisha)

Mrs Kenny has made a nice warm scarf for our cuddly Kipper to wear - we hope it will help to stop him getting too cold when he is throwing snowballs at Tiger!

Thank you for the letter!

Isaac rushed into Willow class this morning to show us a lovely letter he had received from his Nana!

Isaac's Nana reads our blog and has seen that we have been reading Jane Hissey books.

Isaac's Nana used to be a Teacher and she told us her class really enjoyed Jane Hissey books. Their favorite was 'The Winter Picnic'.

We don't have that book in school but if you click on the video below you can listen to this story.
Write a comment and tell us what you think!
