Stick Man . . .

Stick Man lives in the family tree
With his Stick Lady Love and their stick children three . . .

This was another very popular Julia Donaldson book!

The children loved the excitement of finding out what would happen next to Stick Man as he went on his adventure to try and get back to the family tree.
They also joined in with "I'm Stick Man, I'm Stick Man, I'M STICK MAN, that's me!"

Jamie told us "I liked Stick Man floating away in the river"

Emily enjoyed seeing Santa and told us about him bringing presents for the girls and boys.

Amelia said "I liked the one tucked up in his bed"

Ellie W told us the presents were for Christmas, and that she has presents on her birthday.

This was a super book to finish our Author focus with - all the children are hoping that Santa will visit them on Christmas Eve - perhaps Stick Man will leave the family tree once more to help him, we'll have to wait and see!

We hope you have all enjoyed the Julia Donaldson books as much as we have - we will focus on a different author next term - join us after the holiday to find out who it will be!

The Gruffalo's Child

The Gruffalo said that no gruffalo should
Ever set foot in the deep dark wood!

We were very excited to find out what was going to happen when the Gruffalo's Child ignored her father's warning and tiptoed out into the snow . . .

"The Gruffalo's Child went out of the cave and saw a snake" (Corey)

"The fox came out of his house" (Freddie)

"The Gruffalo's Child pulled funny faces!" (Taylor)

"The Gruffalo saw the big shadow of the mouse" (Lydia)

We all loved this story and were relieved to find that the Gruffalo's Child arrived safely back in the cave after her adventure.

It was great fun listening to the different sound effects in our interactive edition of the story - and creating some of our own!

Do you think you would like to hear Fox growl, Snake hiss, or Gruffalo snore? Let us know!
