Lullabyhullaballoo!

We have been reading another book by Mick Inkpen - this one had a great title - Lullabyhullaballoo!

The sun is down. The moon is up. It is bedtime for the Little Princess.
But outside the castle . . .

Bailey - "Everybody's being noisy!"

Harley - "The dragon roared and gets his fire out"

Jessica - "I liked because the dragon made the noise!"

Lexie-Mai - "The ghost was making a noise - a ghost sound!"

Georgia - "The giant was making a stompy noise and he said
'Shall I take my shoes off?'!"

Evan W - "He's hungry" (the giant) "Because he hasn't ate anything yet!"

Gethin - "The giant makes a noise in his shoes!"

Ruby - "He's got to take off his boots!"

Georgia - "The knights were making clanking noises!"

Alfie - "The knights were rattling!"

We all enjoyed joining in with the repetative text - 'What shall we do? We'll tell them to SSSH! That's what we'll do. SSSH!'

Alisha - "The trolls were eating very loudly and the Princess said 'SSSH'!"

Harley - "I liked the trolls burping!"

Lottie - "The Princess was going in her castle and she was crying 'cause they waked her up!"

Noah - "She woke up and she was crying and crying!"

Everyone joined in together to sing the Princess a lullaby - finally she fell asleep - but then she began snoring!
What shall we do?

Archie - "When she was screaming they had to sing her a lullaby"

Jessica - "The Princess has gone to sleep"

Jacob - "The Princess was sleeping - she snored!"

Milena - "That was a long story!"

Noah - "That was a nice story!"

We hope you have plenty of peace and quiet when you are trying to get to sleep!

Thank you Isaac in Willow Class!

Unlike the Cat in our story - Isaac was not at all forgetful! He remembered that we have started looking at a new Author - Judith Kerr and brought us in an 'Audio book' called 'Mog the Forgetful Cat'.

The children really enjoyed listening to this audio book!

Isaac's favourite part was when Mog scared the robber!

If anyone else has a Judith Kerr story we would love you to bring it to school so we can share it with the class.

Well done Isaac!

Look out for Judith Kerr books Willow Class!

This week Willow Children were introduced to another author - Judith Kerr.  She has written some very well known stories such as the 'Mog' the cat books.
Today we read one of Miss Quinn's favourites - 'The Tiger Who Came to Tea'.
We loved it so much we read it two times!!!

Jake's favourite part was when the Tiger ate all of the food in the entire house!

Miley's favourite part was the ending when they all went out for tea at the cafe - they had sausages and chips! Yum Yum!

Look out for Judith Kerr books Willow Class - bring any others you find into school so we can share a story with the class :-)

Wibbly Pig's Silly Big Bear

We enjoyed getting to know Wibbly Pig so much, we thought we would read another story about him . . .

Noah - "That means we've got two with Wibbly Pig now!"

Wibbly Pig has a bear so big he can hardly fit on the page!

Ruby - "He's like a giant!"

Wibbly's bear was having a few problems . . .

Jessica - "He's not been eating his peas very well!"

Alisha - "The bear didn't eat his peas very well because he didn't use a spoon"

He eats his ice cream with his paws and gets it everywhere!

Jack - "And it's on Pig's head as well!"

Georgia - "The silly bear didn't know how to sit on a potty or brush his teeth!"

Gethin - "He didn't brush his teeth!"

Alisha - "He doesn't know where to hide!"
Alfie - "Beacause he's too big!"
Gethin - "You have to go under the bed" (to hide)

But the bear was good at some things . . . he can jump!
And he can crash! And he can bash his paws like thunderclaps!

Maisy - "He twist the Pig round and round!"

Alisha - "I liked the Pig when he was blowing the bubbles"

When Wibbly's bear is no longer here, when he is gone . . .

Alisha - "He will be sad"

Poor Wibbly!

Have you got a favourite bear - we would love to hear all about him!

Wibbly Pig has 10 Balloons

We have been meeting a new friend - and his name is Wibbly Pig!

Wibbly Pig is very proud of his ten balloons. But his friends arrive and everybody wants one.
Soon even his favourite teddy bear balloon has gone . . .

Noah - "I've got that story at home, I borrowed it from the library"

Archie - "He shares them out" (the balloons)

Alisha - "Who wrote the book?"

Esme - "Mick Inkpen writes it!"

We enjoyed working out how many balloons Wibbly Pig would have left each time . . .

Noah - "There will be 9 left because he's given 1 away!" (showed 9 fingers)
"And if he gives 1 away that will be 8, and then he's going to give another one away and there will be 7!" (showing 7 fingers)

Big Pig's sister wanted a balloon too - but she wasn't very polite in the way she asked!

Bethan - "She didn't say 'please'!"

Georgia - "The naughty pig didn't say please and she stamped her feet and took the balloon"

She grabbed the strings from Wibbly so that she could get the pink one with the bow - "That's the one I want!" she squealed - and then let the others go!

Summa - "The piggy stamped her feet and pulled a balloon and let the others go"

Ava - "I liked it when the naughty pig stamped her feet and she took a balloon and let the others go!"

Noah - "I liked it when the girl took the strings off Wibbly Pig and the balloons rose"

Poor old Wibbly had no balloons left . . .

Felicity - "Zero makes none!"

Jack - "The balloons blow up in the sky"

Alisha - "The teddy bear balloon - the Pig liked the teddy bear balloon but it was floating away"
Evan E - "The Pig is called Wibbly!"

Wibbly Pig and Tiny Pig sat sadly in the park . . . "No balloons" sighs Wibbly Pig. "And I started off with ten! That teddy bear balloon was best. I had three left and then . . ."

Noah - "I don't feel sad because look what's coming in the corner!"

Sam - "The teddy bear balloon floated back to him - that balloon floated across the moon!"

Lexie-Mai - "And he's really happy!"

"My teddy bear balloon came back!" says Wibbly with a grin. And Tiny's grinning too because . . . one came back for him!
